Local Shriners Host Screening Clinic for Children with Medical Conditions

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- Local Shriners sponsor orthopedic screening clinic for children in need of treatment.

The Abou Ben Adhem Shriners are hosting a screening clinic for orthopedic conditions for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The clinic run 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Oct 4 at the Library Center located at 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

The event is free to the public and all children under the age of 18 are eligible.

Families do not have to be a member of the Shrines to participate and finances or insurance eligibility does not affect opportunity for care.

If you suspect your child may have an orthopedic condition this free screening clinic is an opportunity for a local medical personnel to evaluate your child and, if necessary, refer your child to seek treatment at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

No appointment is necessary. Children will not be diagnosed but will be evaluated to determine if they have a condition that's treatable. Acceptance as a patient is based solely on a child's medical needs.

Conditions include, but are not limited to: cleft lip or palate, burns, stiff joints, cerebral palsy, hip conditions, brittle bones, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, neurological disorders, scar revisions, scoliosis, specialized plastic surgery, spine conditions, sports injuries, and more.

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals.
