The incident occurred near around 2:35 a.m. today, Aug. 5, near the intersection of Hamilton and Union streets, according to police.

So far, police believe the two victims were beaten by four to six unidentified men after the two groups got into an argument.

Rutgers police said the victims aren't affiliated with the university.

Descriptions of the suspects are limited at this time, Rutgers police said. But city cops said they're looking for three to five white men and one Hispanic or Asian man. Police don't know what sort of clothing the suspects wore, or where they headed after the assault.

Cops don't believe any weapons were used in the fight, they said.

Anyone with information should call New Brunswick Police Det. Raymond Quick at 732-745-5217.
