MD Moms is a Los Angeles based company that was founded by two dedicated and enthusiastic pediatricians, Diane Truong, M.D., FAAP and JJ Levenstein, M.D. FAAP. As pediatricians, they have spent over a quarter of a century caring for children and advising thousands of new parents. After hearing feedback from parents, MD Moms was inspired to create their Baby Silk line in order to provide high quality, hypoallergenic, effective skin and bath products for infants and children; they like-wise saw a need to pay it forward by creating a childrens charity of the year and committing to increase awareness of childrens causes and creating a stream of income to help support the charity. The MD Moms are dedicated to helping children at large through a variety of efforts, and this partnership exemplifies the goals of both our company, and those of United Cerebral Palsy Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) - to help build and sustain ability in children with abilities of all types." states MD Moms co-founder, JJ Levenstein.

"Both Dr. Diane and I are proud to name UCPlay Project as our Children's Charity of the Year for 2014-2016. As a Board Member of UCPLA, I am so proud to share the good work we are doing through the UCPlay Project. As an MD MOM, I am so happy to help sustain this vital intervention on behalf of children with autism and other developmental disabilities in our public schools. Over the next three years, we hope to spearhead an effort to share a tool kit that schools in all 50 states can use to help facilitate similar programs, and help healthy children develop more empathy and tolerance to their peers in need. We plan to host a series of webinars with UCPLA, presenting experts in the developmental field to help educate our families, and will be continuing our Give 1 Get 1 program, where MDMoms.com customers can add a $1 donation to UPCLA to their shopping cart. This customer donation will be matched by both Dr. Diane and I personally, resulting in a 2 to 1 matching donation at the end of each year.

UCPlay Project is for students with special needs and has a variety of programs which incorporate multi-sensory creative play to encourage personal communication and expression. The focus of UCPlay Project is the development of social and communication skills to give students with special needs the confidence to enjoy, and learn from, their interactions with peers, teachers and the community around them. The UCPlay Project is also committed to the transformation of attitudes towards disabilities and diversity throughout the entire school community. The program that started with fourteen children in one school now has grown to serve over 800 students each week in more than 26 public schools.

Dr. Ronald S. Cohen, President and Chief Executive Officer of UCPLA explains, When Dr. JJ and MD Moms approached UCPLA about working together with our UCPlay Project, we saw it as a unique opportunity for our organizations to align our missions for the benefit of students with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities, who overcome incredible challenges every day. The alliance will give UCPlay Project and MD Moms the ability create a social media platform to build an online community for children with special needs, their parents and their teachers to increase awareness, highlight resources, and interactively share information.
