Green Bay - New technology is changing the way anatomy and physiology students learn about the human body at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

"That's the diaphragm," said anatomy and physiology instructor Marc Ditty while demonstrating how to use the Anatomage Table.

It's one of only two in the state.

Mondayseveral anatomy and physiology students atNWTC are getting their first look.

"It was awesome. I think it will be a wonderful teaching tool for the students and for the teachers to zero in on all the different systems," said nursing student Lori Stiles.

The table uses two dimensional imagery like a photo orCT scan and reformats it to make it three dimensional.

It can be used to examine different systems in the body or even for dissections traditionally done on cadavers.

"We can manipulate the data that we have in the table in a multitude of ways. If we make a cut, it can be reversed. We can undo a cut," explained Ditty.

The table works just like an I-pad. With the touch of a button, you can go from seeing the human body to all of the anatomy on the inside.

"It's really exciting. I think the most exciting part is seeing how excited the students get to see anatomy in this new way," added Ditty.
