The book, Big Data Analytics in Bioinformatics and Healthcare, about electronic medical records management explores biology, technology and medicine. She wrote it with her son and her former doctoral adviser, William Perrizo, on the 10th anniversary of her son's emigration from China to join her in the United States.

Education: Wang earned a Ph.D. in computer science from North Dakota State University, a master's degree in art from St. John's University in Minnesota and a master's in computer science from Minnesota State University of St. Cloud.

Quote: I missed my son so much at that time and was about to quit my doctoral studies altogether to go back to China. Thank God! Miracles happened when I was about to give up.
