Ever since Owens Wish2Walk appeal was launched at the end of January, the Lowestoft and East Anglian community has rallied round to back the Carlton Colville lad and his family.

After being diagnosed with cerebral palsy (spastic displegia) when he was 22-months-old, a campaign was launched by Owens parents Carl and Sacha in an effort to raise 50,000 for an operation at the St Louis Childrens Hospital in Missouri a centre for cerebral palsy spasticity.

But thanks to the amazing generosity of the local community, The Journal can today reveal that a staggering 60,000 has been raised for Owens appeal.
