Buntanetap found to halt cognitive decline in early Parkinsons trial – Parkinson’s News Today

Six months of once-daily buntanetap halted cognitive decline among people in the early stages of Parkinsons disease, and improved cognition in those with mild dementia. Thats according to new data from a Phase 3 trial (NCT05357989), which showed that the therapy candidate, developed by Annovis Bio, also improved motor function in patients with a diagnosis more than three years prior, as well as in those with postural instability and gait difficulties. We are very pleased to see improvements in many of our patients over such a short course of treatment, Maria Maccecchini, PhD, founder, president, and CEO of Annovis Bio, said in a company press release. Low-dose TED-A9 cell therapy eases Parkinsons motor symptoms: Study – Parkinson’s News Today

The first three Parkinsons disease patients who received a low dose of TED-A9, an investigational stem cell-based therapy being developed by S.Biomedics, saw reduced motor symptoms after a year without any reported side effects. The results come from a small Phase 1/2 clinical study (NCT05887466) where 12 adults with a diagnosis of Parkinsons for five or more years received a single transplant of TED-A9, at either a low or high dose, directly into the brain. The clinical results demonstrated very promising efficacy, Dong-Wook Kim, MD, PhD, a professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea, and chief technology officer at S.Biomedics, said in a company press release.
