After a minor explosion occurred in the Chemistry building on Monday, the four injured people were released from University Medical Center the same day.

Eric Finley, UMC spokesperson, said the patients were treated and released from the hospital Monday.

Finley could not confirm if the injured individuals were Tech students, he said.

According to the Tech police blotter, a chemical waste container exploded and injured four students at 3:12 p.m. Monday in the Chemistry building.

Classes were not canceled after the explosion, according to a previous article in The Daily Toreador, and only the affected lab was evacuated.
