METRO VANCOUVER -- A Maple Ridge pharmacy was robbed late Thursday afternoon in the 22900 block of Lougheed Highway.

A man walked into the pharmacy and a clerk noted he was wearing a disguise, so he went to a back office. The suspect jumped over the counter and took some prescription drugs and cash before running outside.

Police were called to the Chemist Pharmacy just before 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 years of age, six feet tall and weighing approximately 170 to 180 pounds (slim to medium build).

He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, and a black baseball hat.

He also wore a white bandana covering part of his face, black pants, and white running shoes.

Police are releasing a surveillance photo of the suspect as he was leaving the store.

Anyone with any information as to the identity of the suspect is asked to call Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251, or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at http://www.bccrimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
