The Sceptical Chymists, a group of Gettysburg College chemistry buffs, made Coca-Cola caviar at a recent meeting.

How? By combining soda, calcium chloride and a few other ingredients.

But it took members a few tries to get it right.

"I saw them working out the kinks earlier this week," Gettysburg College Chemistry Department Chair Joe Grzybowski. "There were some failures."

The group's name comes from Robert Boyle's book, "Sceptical Chymists," president Ida DiMucci said. Member, usually about 20 to 25 people, meet for chemistry-related events and fun during the academic year.
