Sacramento police have identified the man who crashed into an east Sacramento pharmacy last night.

DeShawn Davis, 19, of Rancho Cordova was arrested Thursday night after fleeing the crash into Knotts Pharmacy, 4819 J St. He was arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle and misdemeanor hit and run.

Sacramento police officials said Davis was eastbound on J Street about 6:45 p.m. between 48th and 49th streets when the SUV he was driving collided with another car, then into the front of Knotts Pharmacy.

The pharmacy opened today.

Davis ran from the wreckage, said police and witnesses, but was captured by officers about 7 p.m. at 59th Street and Folsom Boulevard.

Police believe the teen was involved in a hit-and-run incident earlier in the day.
