Post Kochs Spine Paraplegia D10-11 Treatment and Rehabilitation in Mumbai, India She is a known case of Koch #39;s spine in January 2010 which was misdiagnosed as typhoid and treatment for the same was given. Gradually, her back ache increased with progressive weakness in lower extremities, so MRI of the spine revealed altered marrow signal intensity at D10 and D11 levels with histopathology test positive.So she was operated 6 months later - decompression of spine was performed and has been on rehabilitation since then. She can stands with splints and walker. Neurologically, she is hypertonic and hyperreflexic. On examination: she has sensory loss below D12 level. She has grade 0 muscle power in bilateral lower extremities and near normal upper extremities muscles. She has no bowel bladder control and does intermittent self catheterization. She has severe lower extremities flexor spasms. Functionally, she needs assistance in all ADL and is wheelchair bound for mobility. On FIM she scores 89. After Stem Cell Therapy 1) She can come to paraplegic stance with less effort which was difficult for her. 2) All exercises are easy to do. 3) Spasticity has reduced minimally. Spasticity further reduced after exercises , grade I. 4) Still she has not developed any bladder and bowel sensations. 5) Rolling in bed is easy now. 6) ROM of hip abduction in suspension has increased (because of abs, QL). 7) Now able to balance self when sitting at the back on bike (has to be placed on the bike ...
