KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - State Rep. Doris Goodale is hospitalized in Las Vegas for treatment of a stroke she suffered Sunday while eating at a restaurant.
The 64-year-old Kingman Republican was listed in critical condition but family friend Margaret Nyberg told the Kingman Daily Miner (http://bit.ly/16ocU1h ) that the prognosis for Goodale is good.
Nyberg says doctors are considering whether to use surgery or medication to remove a clot from Goodale's neck.
Goodale has served in the Legislature since 2009, represents a district centered on Mohave County and is House Education Committee chairman.
The Legislature is not now in session. The 2014 session begins in January.
Goodale's husband, Bill Goodale, died in October 2012 several weeks after suffering a stroke.
