This is Dr. Jim Craig, with Summerbrook Dental Group, here to talk about a question many patients have had about sleep dentistry, one of the many topics the dentist Aurora CO residents go to get asked. Sleep dentistry is not really an appropriate term, in my opinion, because when you #39;re sedated at your dental office, you #39;re in a state of sedation, not in a state of sleep. When you #39;re sedated at the dental office, there can be many different forms of sedation or ways to cut your anxiety. You can do laughing gas, which many patients are familiar with. You can also pick up a prescription at your pharmacy for a pill that you can take before you arrive at your dentist to help cut some of that anxiety. We can also do sedation through pills, and as a dentist in Aurora CO, we are licensed to do pill sedation dentistry. In addition, you can do sedation through an IV, where we put medicine directly into your IV to help you achieve that state of sedation. We #39;re pleased to announce that we #39;re one of the few offices in Colorado that can do a full range of IV sedation for those more complicated requests.
