Stem Cell Treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
He is a known case of DMD since 1 year of age with history of falling while walking. Gradually, he has developed weakness in lower limbs and difficulty in getting up from the floor. Since 1 year he has difficulty in overhead activities. Neurologically, he is hypotonic and hyporeflexic. On examination, he has all sensations intact. He has grade 2++ muscle power in proximal muscles of lower limbs and grade 3 muscle power in upper limbs. He has bilateral calf muscle hypertrophy. Functionally, he requires minimal to moderate assistance in his ADL. He walks with a waddling gait. On FIM he scores 94. On Brooke scale he scores 8 and on Vignos scale he scores 16.
