Stop Frisk 2013 (X Block)
In their Government class, students learned various aspects of the criminal justice system, with a focus on understanding how Court precedents influence the interpretation of the Constitution. They chose a specific research topic related to issues surrounding Mass Incarceration (the phenomenon where large segments of US society - 2.4 million total - are currently behind bars), such as "Stop Frisk" policies, Private Prisons, Incarcerated Women, the War on Drugs, Juvenile Justice, and Immigration Detention. After creating individual fliers on their topic, students were grouped together, and given the task of creating a 4-5 minute film.
