Save a minute, save a day. That's the most important message to come out of a new study on the timing of stroke treatment.
Doctors say its common knowledge that stroke patients need clot-busting medications quickly to have the best chance of a full recovery. Now, researchers in Australia say speeding up treatment by just one minute equals almost another two days of healthy life.
Researchers say that for every 15-minute delay in treatment, stroke survivors may lose about a month of their full ability.
