EIGHTY ONE-year-old Joecon (Joe Concepcion of national consumers group and National Movement for Free Elections) publicly admitted that he underwent stem cell therapy last year but stopped doing so in the second to fourth session to complete the procedure, because he thought the therapy worked on him already as he feels 20 years younger.
He encourages others to do the same although it entails more than a million pesos for one to avail of the therapy. Joecon spent about P1.5 million, according to him. Financial problems could be the reason why he discontinued it. Im now 72 but still feel 50 and if ever I have that amount I would rather put it in the bank to have something for my family when Im gone. Yesterday, I heard on television that some unscrupulous businessmen are promoting soup number 7 allegedly made from stem cells manufactured from China. It is in the form of powder and when mixed to your food will make you more active and look younger. Dr. Juan Oliarte of the Department of Health (DH) warned the public not to believe the report. He said although he believes that stem cells could work wonder to some clients, this is still being studied further to perfect the procedure. And besides, he said, stem cells procedure is through injection and not taken orally. Sayang lang ang kuwarta ninyo at delikado pa, Oliarte said. Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile , 89, former President Joseph Estrada, 78, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, 81, Actor Eddie Garcia, 86, among others were said to have undergone the stem cell procedure thats why they are still active until today, although Enrile admitted lately that his eye condition not only impaired his eyesight but also his balance. He now announces his withdrawal from campaigning for his son Jack who is running for senator in the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of triumvirate Enrile, Estrada and Vice President Jojo Binay. As I said, I will not dare undergo the stem cell procedure for my self. Masayang-masaya na ako sa aking edad ngayon. Nag i-enjoy pa rin. Balut lang at beer ang sekreto ko. Hehe.

The Commission on Elections will file criminal charges against those who put up oversized campaign materials outside a cathedral in Bacolod City. The offending tarpaulin identified the senatorial candidates that Catholic should support or reject based on their positions on the reproductive health (RH) law. But church officials that put up the tarpaulin at the San Sebastian Cathedral in Bacolod continued to defy the Comelec order and will not remove the campaign materials in their compound. Maybe one of the many reasons why Pope Benedict XVI hurriedly retired from the papacy is because he believes that those political tarpaulins in the Bacolod church will do a disservice to the Church voice as his church officials openly politicize His preaching. The Comelec should make good its threat to put behind bars those church officials found guilty of an election offense.

Lets not be in a hurry to have a first Filipino to be a successor to resigned Pope Benedict XVI. The Christian World is not yet ready for a 55-year-old Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle who openly announced his availability to the post. The successor to Pope Emeritus Benedict is likely to come from the ranks of older and more experienced cardinals. Tagle was only officially a cardinal last November while many of those informal list of possible candidates who do not announce their ambition as it is taboo during the selection of the next Pope remain unknown. Huwag kayong masyadong padalus-dalos. Masakit ang mabigo sa bandang huli.
