TUCSON - Pima Community College faculty member, Katherine I. Feuling, was awarded for her dedication and excellence in teaching chemistry.

Feuling was awarded at the East Pima campus with its "College Educator Excellence in Teaching Award".

On April 23rd, the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Chemical Society will grant Feuling with her award during a reception at the Casa Vicente Restaurante Espanol, 375 S. Stone Ave.

"In more than 25 years of teaching at Pima, I have been privileged to instruct some very outstanding students who have or will go on to make their mark in the world," Feuling says. "But even more than that, I have been blessed to know many, many inspiring individuals who chose to come to Pima and, whether or not chemistry was their strong suit, have made my career a very satisfying and rewarding one."

Feuling is just one of the many PCC faculty members to receive this award. Last year, Pollyanna Wikrent, a PCC full-time chemistry faculty member at Desert Vista Campus, also received the award.

The award is given out annually to recognize excellence in teaching chemistry, biochemistry or a chemistry-related field at a post-secondary institution that does not offer a Ph.D .-granting program in that field.

"Kathy is so deserving of this prestigious award," says East Campus President Charlotte Fugett. "Her colleagues respect her for her excellence in instruction and her service to our students and our community."
