The chemistry-physics building on Memorial University's St. John's campus will be closed all day and tonight, due to an early morning fire.

The university says classes scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. will go ahead in alternate classrooms.

A list of alternate classrooms will be posted by noon today on the university's website at http://www.mun.ca/main/cancellations.php.
