Veterans are sought to participate in a Veterans Affairs research study on factors that contribute to headaches and neck pain in veterans with mild traumatic brain injury, aka TBI.

Results of the study are intended to help researchers better understand the reasons for headaches and neck pain after TBI and may lead to improved treatment.

The study is open to veterans ages 18-55 who have had TBI.

Participation in the study takes about two hours and includes a clinical interview assessing TBI and headache history and questionnaires about pain and mood symptoms of TBI. There will also be a cold pressor task that measures sensitivity to pain and an MRI scan of your brain and neck that will take about one hour.

Participants receive $50 through direct deposit after completing all study procedures.

Call study coordinator Tiana McMann at (858) 255-1670.
